Here’s the latest scoop on my ongoing projects:

Book 1 – Praetorian Rising
After a hiatus due to a family addition, J.McSpadden has been working hard to finish the rewrites for Praetorian Rising. Get ready for the re-release, because it is in the works! We’re finalizing the details, and it’s set to include fresh content, updated chapters, and some new goodies. Stay tuned for the exciting reveal as we gear up for the rerelease event early 2026.

Book 2 – A Trial of Petals and Poison
Right now, J.McSpadden is eyeballs-deep in edits, pushing hard to wrap up the last round of “intense edits” by Jan 2026. The goal is to get “A Trial of Petals and Poison” (or ATOPAP, as we fondly call it) into your hands shortly after the re-release of Praetorian Rising. Watch out for announcements on release dates, cover reveals, merch drops, book boxes, and beta reading!

Personal Update
Guess what? There’s a new member in the crew—I recently became a mom! Totally unexpected, but it’s been an amazing journey. Now, I proudly hold the title of The Queen in a household full of boys, including my husband, two stepsons, the little one, and our furry friend.

Short Stories and Rapid Releases
A Note from J. McSpadden – ‘I’ve always been the type to enjoy writing quick short stories when I am on a writing groove. It helps expand my skills, continues the fuel of energy, and allows me to explore a wide range of characters and voices. I want to publish these for the public to read. I don’t yet have dates for release, but the idea is in the works to get a new short story out every month. Keep an eye out, these will be in the works and out the door soon!’
