Protection Ritual: Shielding Protesters with Intention

By

🔮 A Ritual for Protection

There is magic in resistance.

There is power in peace.

And there is sacred responsibility in using your energy to protect those who dare to speak truth to power.

This protection ritual is for the witches, allies, and everyday magic-makers who want to shield the bodies, spirits, and hearts of those marching, chanting, and standing against oppression. Whether you’re out there yourself or casting from the sidelines, your magic matters.

We believe in peaceful protest.
We do not endorse violence, destruction, or harm. And let’s be clear: spitting on someone? Not protest. It’s a criminal act and will absolutely get you arrested. We encourage you to join the fight, and if all you can do is fight from the sidelines, babes we got you covered. Our soldiers in the fight against oppression need us, and what we can provide; protection.

This is about protecting the people—not provoking more harm. This is about spiritual armor, energetic clarity, and community defense through intention. Let’s get into it, witches!

✨ The Ritual: A Circle of Protection for Protesters

What You’ll Need:

  • A black or white candle (for protection or clarity)
  • A bowl of salt or a handful of soil
  • A photo or name of the person you’re protecting (or a blank paper with “All Protesters” written on it)
  • Optional: a charm or item for them to carry (see below)

Instructions for your Protection Ritual:

  1. Ground Yourself:
Sit with both feet on the floor. Close your eyes. Inhale deeply. On the exhale, imagine your body sinking into the earth. You are rooted. Safe. Anchored.
  2. Light the Candle:
    Say aloud:
“By flame and focus, I call protection forth.”
  3. Circle the Salt or Soil Around the Paper or Name:
    Say:
“Let no harm come to those who rise in peace.
Let no weapon of fear, hate, or chaos touch them.
I cast this circle not to trap, but to shield.”
  4. Hold Your Hands Over the Candle or Photo and Visualize:
See golden light surrounding the person or people. A dome of shimmering, flexible energy. Nothing sharp or cruel can pierce it. It flows with them as they move.
  5. Close the Ritual with This Chant (Say it 3x):
“Shield the body, shield the will,
Guard their path, and do no ill.
    Power to the peaceful heart—
Let no harm tear us apart.”
  6. Extinguish the Candle when ready and sprinkle the salt or soil at your doorstep, in your yard, or flush it with gratitude. Say:
“Let the shield travel where it is needed.”

🧿 Bonus: Make a Protection Charm to Carry or Gift

This is perfect for those attending protests or those staying behind who want to feel connected and empowered.

What You’ll Need:

  • A small pouch, cloth scrap, or pocket stone
  • A pinch of salt
  • A satchel of basil or rosemary sprig (for warding)
  • A written word like “Shield” or “Safe”
  • A black thread, hair tie, or piece of string

How to Charm It:

Hold the items in your hand. Say:

“You are not just pouch or stone—
Become the shield, become the bone.
In my pocket or my palm,
Carry courage. Carry calm.”

Knot it closed, and tuck it in a bag, boot, or pocket.

💌 A Note on Energy and Intention

This work is sacred. Even if you feel helpless or far away, your intention weaves protection into the world. The more of us casting these shields, the stronger they become.

Use this ritual before major protest days, full moons, or whenever fear tries to creep in. It’s a magical way of saying: I see you. I protect you. I believe in your fight for justice.
